What is stored on your iPhone

Your profile (first name, age group, the date and type of your previous contraception including the brand, your reasons, your starting point, pre-existing conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, migraine with aura or thyroid conditions) and your check-ins (bleeding, pain, mood and how you feel, discharge, signs you noticed such as migraine, nausea or mood swings, optionally your weight, diary notes). This is health data. mena processes it only on your device so the app can work. It is not transmitted to anyone, including us.

Skin photos

Skin photos are optional and turned off by default. If you take any, mena stores them only inside the app on your iPhone: not in your photo library, not in the iCloud backup and not in your iCloud database. When saving, mena makes the photo smaller and removes location and camera data. mena does not analyze the photos. You can delete them one by one, with “Delete all data”, or by deleting the app.

iCloud backup

The backup is optional and turned off by default. If you turn it on under “More”, mena stores your entries in your private iCloud database with Apple (Apple CloudKit). This database belongs to your Apple Account; we cannot view it. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud. You can turn the backup off at any time. To delete data that has already been stored, use your iPhone's iCloud settings, or use “Delete all data” while the backup is turned on.

Purchases

You buy the unlock through Apple. Only Apple receives your payment details. mena checks on your device whether the unlock has been purchased. We do not learn who made a purchase.

Reminders

The daily reminder is a notification that your iPhone schedules itself. No server is involved. On the lock screen, the text does not reveal what it is about.

Face ID and Touch ID

The check is performed by iOS. mena only learns whether it succeeded and receives no biometric data.

No analytics, no ads

mena contains no analytics or advertising services, no tracking and no accounts. No third-party services are integrated.

Crash reports

If you have allowed sharing with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple provides us with anonymous crash reports. They contain no entries from mena.

If you email us

If you send us an email, we use your address and message only to reply to you (for users in the EU: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete them once your request has been handled and no retention obligation applies. Please do not send us health data.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, may also give you rights regarding your health data. Because mena does not collect, share or sell your entries and they do not leave your device except to your own private iCloud, we hold no such data about you. You can delete your entries yourself at any time: under “More” with “Delete all data”, or by deleting the app.

Changes

If anything about mena changes that affects privacy, we will update this policy. The version in the current app applies.

Keine Analyse, keine Werbung
